Adrianne Palicki is an American actress best known for her roles in Legion (2010), Red Dawn (2012), and in the TV series Friday Night Lights (2006-2011). In 2013, she played Lady Jaye in G.I. Joe: Retaliation. She is also known for her role of Bobbi Morse in Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Early career and lifeEdit
Although she is a potentially promising actress, throughout her life, Adrianne Palicki has suffered from coeliac disease, causing her appearance and weight to fluctuate wildly, and resulting in various health problems which have haunted her entire life, giving her the wrong sort of reputation.
This trouble began when she was still in high school, and had to quit sports due to the abovementioned health issues - something that set Adrianne up as a semi-invalid for the rest of her life. She was voted runner-up as the homecoming queen in her school because of this, and hadn't forgotten it either.
Having graduated from high school, Adrianne continued to try her hand in acting - she has starred, for example, in Friday Night Lights from 2006 to 2009, until her poor health forced her to quit, despite being one of the show's stars. (She returned for the series' finale in 2011). Despite her fine acting, this departure from the series (in 2009) caused Adrianne to be regarded as someone unpredictable and unreliable, and her appearances on such failed shows as The Robinsons: Lost in Space (2003), Aquaman (2006) and Wonder Woman (2011) only made it worse. She did star in episodal roles on such shows as Smallville, Supernatural and About a Boy, but her unpredictable health and varying physical appearance prevented her from landing a regular role on any series.
She had better luck with films, especially Legion (2010) and G.I.Joe: Retaliation (2013), where she was the female lead of Lady Jaye, but her break - seemingly - came in 2014, when Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. hired her to be a character on the show, agent Morse.
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 2014-16 and beyondEdit
Unfortunately, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. suffered from its own internal problems and Palicki soon discovered that rather than being 'The Mockingbird' from the Marvel comics, she was a secondary character, with the spotlight belonging to Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, and Elizabeth Henstridge, whose characters were the regular agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., while Palicki's character was more ambiguous and often acted contrary to S.H.I.E.L.D (on the show).
Palicki was not happy with this development, especially after the writers and producers of the show blamed her reputation for this decision. For a while she thought about quitting the show altogether, but then she befriended her fellow actors, (whose characters interacted with hers most often): Maya Stojan, Brett Dalton and Nick Blood, who became her first regular friends in a long while.
Sadly, this caused Adrianne to end her relationship with the stuntman Jackson Spidell, and even worse, the relationship between different S.H.I.E.L.D. cast members and their relationship with the show's producers and writers continued to deteriorate. Stojan left in 2015, returning to her earlier job as a secondary character in Castle. Dalton, Blood and Palicki herself lasted until 2016, after which their characters too get killed on the show, and they departed the cast of S.H.I.E.L.D., instead starring on their own show - Marvel's Most Wanted, which, while also playing-out in the Marvel universe, is separate from S.H.I.E.L.D. and doesn't interact with its cast or plot.
Adrianne Palicki is a part of a support group for her sickness, she currently weighs 400 pounds, and unlike several of her characters, (I.e. Bobbi Morse and the like), she is considered to be something of an introvert by her friends and family. She, like her mother, is a big fan of comic books. She is currently single at the moment.
