Thorne's weight was a much discussed topic since the debut of Shake It Up when the then 13-year old appeared to put on a significant amount of weight over the first season of the show. Only after turning 18 did Thorne reveal that she had gained over a 100 pounds over the course of filming the first season of Shake It Up and when the show ended she was well over 450 pounds. Thorne admitted that her weight could have been higher if not for the experiences of her older sisters, Kaili and Danielle who had also gained tremendous amounts of weight in their teens almost to the point of immobility on several occasions and have been struggling to maintain their weight at the same level for years. The three Thorne sisters have consulted with Rachel Weisz and her sister Minnie about their own struggles with rapid weight gain as well with Jillian Michaels about how to build up their muscles.
In November 2015, Thorne revealed that she weighed approximately 630 pounds and is definitely not as heavy as her older sisters.
